Non-Beauty Favorites

Hey there, happy Monday, friends!  This weekend I decided to do a quick(ish) video featuring some of my non-makeup-hair-body-thing-type-favorites, and share some of the other random things that are making my life a little more enjoyable.

Everything from my favorite wine to music, tv and Target.

I’ve also made up a new month:  Maypril.  You’re welcome.

April Beauty Favorites

Well hello, there.

april favorites

It’s already time for April Favorites, and I’m not sure where this year is going.  It’s like.. May(ish.)  MAY!  It’s also the time where my mom’s birthday, dad’s birthday, father’s day and mother’s day all clump into one big cluster of gifts and cards, but my parents are pretty amazing so I try not to complain.

But you know this means I have to buckle down on my own personal shopping.. which… uhhh…

Didn’t happen this month.

april favorites lips

To be fair, only one of these lip products is new.

milani pink punch

And it’s SO PRETTY!! Milani’s Fruit Punch has been my obsession lately, it is the most perfect Barbie pink color, and it smells like watermelons.  Perfection for springtime, and I love love love it.  Holler at your drugstore lipsticks.

The rest of the lip products got cut off (womp womp), but all I will say is I was a big hater on the NYX Megashine lipgloss when I first got it, and now I’m a believer.  This color is “beige”, except you and I both know it’s actually pink.  But it’s a lovely shade of blush/nude, and it’s great for days when you just want a kiss of color and not the full monty.

Two of these products are newbies: The Wet’n’Wild eye shadow trio (in Walking on Eggshells) and the Rimmel Scandal Eyes liner in Nude.  This trio is amazing for a neutral eye look, and the crease and lid colors blend beautifully.  The Rimmel eyeliner has been strictly for lining my waterline (how many times can I say “line” in one sentence…) but it has been CRUCIAL during this pesky allergy season.  I feel like an extra on Half Baked with all the Visine I’ve been pouring into my eyeballs.

To check out the rest, click to watch this month’s video!

Don’t forget to leave me a comment and let me know what some of your favorites were this month!  And let me know if you’d like to see a non-beauty favorites post/video like the ones I’ve done in the past. I’m not sure those are as exciting, but I have a few rando things I’ve been loving lately that don’t come in a shiny package or smell like candy.

…Or do they?

February Favorites

Hi friends, as I mentioned in my AFTF, I have been compiling my little love list of favorites for the month of February- otherwise known as the month of awkwardly-placed-R’s.

(Not all items made it to this pic, I put some of them away before I remembered to snap it.  Whoopsie.)

As many of you predicted, I did indeed fall victim to the beautiful Vivids line of lipsticks by Maybelline.

I cannot wait for the weather to stay over 50 for long enough that I can get away with wearing these beauties.  I guess I could just wear them whenever I want, but I’m weird about my cosmetics coinciding with the seasons.  Although I will wear white whenever the hell I want.

I also broke down and cracked open the Rocket mascara…

the rocket mascara

I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I heard lots of mixed reviews and wasn’t sure whether or not I’d like it, but I do like it.  Nay- I REALLY like it.  I think I’ll need to give it a few more wears before I can say if I like it as much as the Falsies, but I think they bring different advantages to the table.  It sounds like I’m dating mascara… wait… am I?

yes to tomatoes acne mask

I FOUND IT!  Yes, that’s right.  The full-size YTT Clear Skin face maskIt was even on sale at my local Wegman’s, making it nearly impossible to not buy all three, but I stayed strong.  For now.  I may or may not go back later next week for the rest of them…

One of the other skincare products I mention this month is definitely on the pricey side- but I cannot stress enough to you guys how much I love this product.  After I tried the Joanna Vargas Daily Serum in my Birchbox, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I had to order the full size, and since I was able to use some of my Birchbox points, it was a little less detrimental to my wallet, however, next time I won’t be so lucky.  But if you are like me and suffer from scarring, breakouts, etc., I definitely think this stuff is worth the splurge.

For the rest of my February favorites, check out the video below, and let me know what some of your favorite beauty products are right now!

If you need me I’ll be stalking the Yes to Carrots rack at Wegman’s, throwing produce at anyone who tries to leave with any of my those masks.

Oh and make sure you check out Kate’s blog and YouTube pages for some lovely beauty posts and you too can wish you were besties with her.  Or at least envy her adorable accent.

Have a great week! xo
