Things to Peep on the Cheap

One of the reasons I consider myself “stealthy” per se, is that I am always on the look out for less-expensive but still good quality beauty products.  And in light of my most recent Birchbox (click here to find out more), I was inspired to share a few of the “cheap” items I’ve worked into my routine the last few months that have not only saved me some serious cash money (I know, I’m so gangster) but that I am absolutely loving.  Yes, that’s right.  Loving.

So just to preface this, here’s my most recent Birchbox:

(PS- I always write “bitch-box” first, which I think is pretty hilarious.)  Anyways, as you can see, it was decent.  The theme was Gossip Girl (which admittedly I’ve stopped watching… I know…) but I love the “xoxo” cards and I squealed a little when I saw the stila eyeliner box.  Other items included: face cream, face wash, and a delicious smelling perfume.  So as I anxiously unwrapped my sparkly new stila eyeliner, fumbling the tube and getting brown glitter all over my hands as well as in my actual eye, I realized something.  I suck at eyeliner.  For someone who has been makeup obsessed for about 25 years, I can still hardly draw a straight line over my eyelid.  Until this came along:

Elf liquid eyeliner pen.  And only $1 at Target, my friends.  It glides on with the greatest of ease and it lasts, like, all day.  I don’t know what it is about this little beaut’ but she is amazing.  I will never ever use another brand.  (I got mine in black, fyi).

Ok, next up, my new favorite shampoo and conditioner.  Now this is always a touchy subject, because for the longest time, I’ve been a pretty big hair product snob.  After years of abuse, my poor damaged locks have seen better days, and it used to be only the priciest of hair elixirs that I’d allow to grace my crown.  But I kept hearing that the Suave Professionals line was worth trying.  So I figured for like $3 a bottle, what did I have to lose?  (Keep in mind, I’ve been spending around $15-$20 a bottle for shampoo/conditioner for at least the last 5 or so years).

I went with the Suave Professionals Humectant Moisture*, and y’all, this stuff is legit.  I use it every day (that I wash my hair…), it smells heavenly, and it makes my hair super silky without weighing it down.  I will probably still go back and forth between this and the “good stuff”  (they say you shouldn’t use the same shampoo/conditioner ever single day) but I cannot say enough good things.

Lastly is something that not only I enjoy, but a little four-legged friend by the name of Mac is also a fan.

St. Ives Naturally Indulgent body lotion, in Coconut Milk and Orchid Extract*.  Do you know what happiness smells like?  This.  This is what happiness smells like.  And I think it’s priced around $5.  It’s the perfect consistency (I can’t stand when lotion is too watery or too thick) and it makes my skin feel nice and soft.
The funny thing about this stuff is that for some reason, Mac is ob.sessed with it.  When I get ready in the mornings, he knows exactly when in my routine that I put lotion on my arms and legs, and runs in like I just laid out a filet, trying his best to lick every drop from my calves.  I have to run away and shout at him to stop, Brandon things we’re both weird, and I end up running into doors, tripping over shoes and knocking over curling irons because of it.  Yes I realize I could just lock the bathroom door, but hey, I like to get in some QT with  my main man before the day begins.

So there you have it, 3 wallet-friendly beauty products that are Stealth-approved for your pampering pleasure!
