May Beauty Favorites

Oh hey there, June.  Didn’t see you coming.

may beauty faves

I have quite a few favorites for the good old month of May.  And please excuse my tardiness, this video took me like 4 days to upload.  I think our laptop is about to bite the dust, but I keep praying that the next time I defrag it (I honestly don’t even know what that means) it will make a glorious resurrection and work like a charm again.

False.

Anywho, back to the faves.  So I found a new line of face products and am head-over-heels for them. Formula 10.0.6 is the name, and I haven’t the faintest idea of what it means.  They have a slew of other items that I can’t wait to try, but for now their Best Face Forward face wash and So Totally Clean toner have me by the heartstrings.

I also have been continuing to obsess over Real Techniques brushes, but these two are by far my absolute favorites: the Expert Face brush and the Multi-Tasking brush.  I don’t clean them nearly as much as I should, but I could say the same for my bathroom.  All I know is they apply every product I use them with amazingly, and I don’t know how I ever lived without them.

And I would be remissed if I didn’t tell you about my ohmygodiloveit favorite foundation right now- the Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation.  Dreams are made of this.  Also flawless complexions.

I have a few other new-to-me items that I was super-pleasantly surprised by this month (thanks, Target) and most of them were pretty affordable!  Check out the video to peep the rest, and be sure to leave a comment telling me some of your favorites lately!

See you in the next one… xoxo

Collective Beauty Haul

So before I *really* enforced my “no more buying new beauty products” rule…. I bought a few more new beauty products.  However, from this point on, I am making it VERY CLEAR to myself that I must use up what I’ve got before I do any more damage in the colorful cosmetic isles of Target or CVS.

However… this was then, that is now.

I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz around the Revlon “Nearly Naked” line in the last few weeks, and if not, let me be the first.  This line is very much like the Urban Decay “Naked” (um, hello identical font) concept and is meant to feel like you’re wearing nothing at all.  This worried me at first, since I tend to shy away from “sheer coverage” products.  However, after multiple reviews about the build-ability-factor of this line, I was very much intrigued.

I chose to pick up both the foundation and powder (because us oily-skinned girls can NEVER have too much powder) and I’m actually completely in love with both.  The foundation is almost the exact same color as my skin, and blends in effortlessly with a very light but medium-coverage finish.  I do need a little concealer after I apply it, just for the stubborn marks and scars, but overall, it’s a ‘beaut of a foundation.  And the powder is also very light, but kind of a beast in the long-lasting category.  I applied this in the morning on my first run, and it stayed put way into the afternoon.

And just who would I be without some lip products… I picked up another of my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (obvi) and this time in Rendezvous.  This little gem is possibly the winner of the whole bunch.  If you’re someone looking to try some of the orange/coral spring beauty trends, I would absolutely suggest starting here.  The color is very buildable, and not too shocking of a color.  I’ve been wearing it non-stop, so expect it to pop up again in next month’s favorites fo sho.

The Color Whispers are another new obsession, this one in Lust for Blush only adds to my love.  It is one of the prettiest nude/pinks I’ve ever worn and it smells like straight Fruit Loops.  FRUIT LOOPS, PEOPLE.

To check out the rest, here’s a “quick” video…

And if you need me I’ll be doing my best to not drive past a Target or CVS for the next month or so.

Have you picked up any new products you’d like to share?  Not that I should even ask, because we all know where that will lead…

Massive Ulta Haul

Hey there, happy last day of 2012!  As I mentioned, Brandon and I have a lovely evening planned of relaxing and snuggling with Macky.  Two of my very sweet friends even bought me champagne as a birthday gift, so it looks like we’ll even have some bubbly to toast at midnight.  …If I make it til then.  (Outlook not so good.)

So I have another vlog for you guys today, and this one is what happens when you unleash me in stores like Ulta with a little bit of birthday money.  I finally picked up a few products that I’d been lusting after, as well as a few new ones I just discovered.

And here is the Rimmel eyebrow pencil in Hazel, and the two NYX lipliners in Mauve and Nude Pink.

I think I’m most excited about the Benefit Hoola bronzer, and do not at all feed bad about splurging on that little gem.

And as far as my other favorite, the NYX Push Up Bra for Your Eyebrows is freaking amazing.  This is one of those products I think I will have to hoard so I can have one strategically placed throughout purses, bathrooms and my desk at work. Love.

And if you’re not into watching the video to check out the rest, here is a list of the products I picked up.
