A Few Things Friday

Well hellooooo!  (Side note: The episode of Friends where Ross & Rachel get married in Vegas was on last night and the scene where they say “Well, helloooo, Mrs. Ross!” and “Hellooooo, Mr. Rachel!” is one of my all-time favorites.  Ok, that’s all.)

Anyways, before I start this week’s AFTF, I just want to A. State how amazing you guys are, and how much I loved all your input on my post from earlier this week.  I don’t know what I did before I had all of you to pour these thoughts out to, and I’m pretty sure it just involved a lot more whining to Brandon.  Who am I kidding, I still do that constantly….  and 2.  I also want to assure you all that everything is all good, a few of you reached out to me like the sweet angel faces you are, which means the world to me.  But it was more of  just a general post about a bunch of things that have just been weighing on my mind lately.  Basically, I’m just a Sensitive McInsecure pants.

Moving along.  Let’s do this, shall we?

1.  I did some damage at Old Navy earlier this week, but it was pretty awesome. I got like 3 bathing suits for something ridiculous like $25, and a few new workout items.  Everyone at my gym dresses really cute, and normally I wouldn’t really care, but for some reason I’m starting to feel like all my old ratty tshirts and cut off yoga pants needs to find their home in the trashcan.  After my first (and last for a while) Lululemon purchase, I’ve been on the hunt for equally as cute, but MUCH less expensive workout shtuff.  Enter the Old Navy knock off Lululemon workout top:

Old Navy activewear

(This picture is actually taken from Polyvore bc apparently these are no longer online?  But they had a bunch of them in my local store and they’re under $20.  Ahhhhmazing.)

2.  I also bought some extremely short shorts from the ‘Nave, thinking that they’d be the solution to my extremely warm gym.  OH NO, MY FRIENDS.  Let me tell you something.  Working out in short shorts, just results in them slowly creeping up and getting even shorter.  I literally felt like I was working out in underwear, and at one point apologized profusely to the girl behind me.  She was very kind and said she didn’t even notice, so either she’s the nicest person in the world or a fantastic liar.  Either way, I appreciate her not throwing dollar bills at me.

3.  Sticking with the gym/healthy theme, I will update you on my progress so far of Operation Get It Together.  I have been very successful in cutting out the weeknight boozing, having a few single beers here and there, but no wine.  Not a sip.  I’ve also been sticking with My Fitness Pal, and actually not hating it.  Surprisingly.  I’m doing a really good job with my caloric intake during the week, and have been really consistent with the gym.  My weight isn’t moving too much, but I’m definitely seeing physical changes already and my clothes are just the tinciest bit looser.  I’m definitely motivated to keep it up, so hopefully I’ll stay on track and be back where I need to with some consistency.

But this matters not, because it’s the weekend now, and that means wine time.  Also a pizza for dinner sounds like a fantastic idea.  Whateva, I do what I want.

Have a great weekend! xo

A Few Things Friday.

Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks my neighbors are complete d-bags.  I mean seriously, who does that?  But alas, I must move on…

It’s Friday so get ready for another installment of: AFTF.  Look at that!  I made my own little acronym.  Word.

1.  My July Birchbox.  I know I’m a wee bit late on this but, OMG. I looooved this month’s shipment.  Not only did I get a set of neon earbuds (so I can have the flashiest earbuds in all the land), but I also got another BB Cream to try and sparkly Stila lipgloss that I may have blown through in 2 weeks time.

I also got some mints (always great for a salesperson to have in her purse), a perfume sample (meh) and this blue nail polish from Color Club that I’ve gotten precisely 47 compliments from since I slathered it on a few days ago.

Ew, my hands are kind of veiny…

2.  I had the bright idea to let them perform a Body Composition Test on me at my new gym, just for shits and gigs.  Um… worst idea ever.  Not only was I unpleasantly surprised by the numbers that printed out on that god-awful little report, but I realized that I really have been slacking since I dropped close to 30 pounds 2 years ago for my wedding.  I know getting back into the swing of things has been a huge step in the right direction, and I haven’t had a sip of alcohol since last Saturday, but I’ve definitely got some work to do and it’s slightly depressing.

3.  Speaking of moving in the right direction, I also took the advice of a trainer I met with and signed up for My Fitness “Pal”.  I use the term “pal” loosely because this sonofabitch tells me I should only have 1200 calories a day.    W.T.F.?  I mean, for the love of God, I think I would faint sometime around 10:30am every single day if I stuck with that.  The trainer did tell me I should really be somewhere around 1700-1800 a day, so I’m going to go ahead and follow her advice.  And as much as my addictive personality tends to get a little out of control when I do things like food journal and count calories, I’m going to make sure I use it as just a tool and not so much as  a live and breathe bible situation.  The struggle is that when I work out consistantly, I am pretty much starving all the time.  But no pain no gain, so I’m going to just do the best I can and try and just be healthy.

So that’s it friends, I hope you all have nice relaxing weekends!  I’d be lying if I dind’t tell you that I am more than a little excited to reunite with my dear friend booze this evening.  After the gym, of course.

PS- sorry if me talking about food or exercise is something that causes a trigger for anyone, please just disregard my stream of consciousness ramblings on these matters as I just felt the need to vent, and I like getting people’s feedback who are in similar situations.  Loveyoumeanit.
