February Favorites

Hi friends, as I mentioned in my AFTF, I have been compiling my little love list of favorites for the month of February- otherwise known as the month of awkwardly-placed-R’s.

(Not all items made it to this pic, I put some of them away before I remembered to snap it.  Whoopsie.)

As many of you predicted, I did indeed fall victim to the beautiful Vivids line of lipsticks by Maybelline.

I cannot wait for the weather to stay over 50 for long enough that I can get away with wearing these beauties.  I guess I could just wear them whenever I want, but I’m weird about my cosmetics coinciding with the seasons.  Although I will wear white whenever the hell I want.

I also broke down and cracked open the Rocket mascara…

I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I heard lots of mixed reviews and wasn’t sure whether or not I’d like it, but I do like it.  Nay- I REALLY like it.  I think I’ll need to give it a few more wears before I can say if I like it as much as the Falsies, but I think they bring different advantages to the table.  It sounds like I’m dating mascara… wait… am I?

I FOUND IT!  Yes, that’s right.  The full-size YTT Clear Skin face maskIt was even on sale at my local Wegman’s, making it nearly impossible to not buy all three, but I stayed strong.  For now.  I may or may not go back later next week for the rest of them…

One of the other skincare products I mention this month is definitely on the pricey side- but I cannot stress enough to you guys how much I love this product.  After I tried the Joanna Vargas Daily Serum in my Birchbox, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I had to order the full size, and since I was able to use some of my Birchbox points, it was a little less detrimental to my wallet, however, next time I won’t be so lucky.  But if you are like me and suffer from scarring, breakouts, etc., I definitely think this stuff is worth the splurge.

For the rest of my February favorites, check out the video below, and let me know what some of your favorite beauty products are right now!

If you need me I’ll be stalking the Yes to Carrots rack at Wegman’s, throwing produce at anyone who tries to leave with any of my those masks.

Oh and make sure you check out Kate’s blog and YouTube pages for some lovely beauty posts and you too can wish you were besties with her.  Or at least envy her adorable accent.

Have a great week! xo

  1. I was inspired by your mention of vaseline for eyelashes, since i use it daily already but not in this way. in fact I googled it and found thousands of links backing that up as a genius idea. I already did it once last night and plan to add it to my routine, great tip!

  2. I’ve got to try these vivids! And I have to catch up on your vlogs too. I can only watch them from like one of my devices. I’m so out of touch with technology.
    Love your face!

  3. I love mascara recommendations. My eyelashes suck so hard, I’m always trying to find a mascara that doesnt just make me hate them more.

  4. I’m definitely going to try Vaseline on my eyelashes! I use it on my lips every night, so I’ve already got some on hand. Also, I love your justification for the expensive product… “I’m THIRTY.” haha

  5. I think the Rocket mascara is pretty much you either love it or hate it…I love it! Especially layered with the Cover Girl Clump Crusher.
Have you tried the new Loreal Telescopic? I think it says Shocking Extensions, something like that. It is my new favorite, I am in love with it. I dont even need to layer another mascara with it when I use it :)

  6. oh my god. i’m sitting here busting out laughing at your little fast forward talk part in the video, LOL. i love your videos. don’t stop making them :) you’re such an inspiration! i suck at making videos and i only hope mine can be as funny and interesting as yours. i still have yet to post my 1st one cause i’m all nervous about being judged! ha!

  7. I admire how you pull off bright lipsticks – I cannot do it. I always feel goofy and never reapply. It’s not a skill of mine. :) I’ve been looking for a new mascara…I’ll have to give that one a try!
