So I know it’s almost February… but I really wanted to do a vlog post for my January Birchbox this month because it was a good one. Plus I’m nosy and love seeing what other people get in theirs. I’m usually pretty happy with them (endless perfume samples aside), and this one was no exception. One item in particular was definitely my favorite, but this whole package was definitely worth the $10.
Here’s all the loot if you’re not into the vlog situation:

Skinny Chic Perfume (meh)
My Prime Mattifying Moisturizer (love this)
Amika Color Perfection Shampoo (smells amazing)
Deborah Lippmann “The Stripper To Go” nail polish removing mitts (would work great for stubborn-polish)
theBalm Hot Mama! Blush/Highlighter (My FAVE)
Even though the full-size of the moisturizer and shampoo are probably out of my price range, they were both decent-sized samples and I’d like to find a dupe for the moisturizer. The shampoo will fit nicely into my gym bag and I loved the polish removers.
The blush/highlighter from theBalm is amazing, though, and I will definitely be snagging that one. It’s a beautiful golden peach color, and it just looks really nice on my fair skin. And for $20, I think I can justify making that purchase. (Hello, Tarte blushes…)
I also got two kick-ass samples from Urban Decay last month that I’ve been wanting to share:
Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss (in Midnight Cowboy, $19) is probably one of the best lipglosses I’ve ever tried. It lasts for hours and is super minty and moisturizing. I love it alone or over a lipstick and I just don’t think I can not have it now that I know how glorious it is. And the Supercurl Curling Mascara ($20) is perfect for when you want to really lengthen your eyelashes without going for a thicker, more dramatic look. It also lasts all day but comes off really easily, which is a double bonus. Both of these products are destined to be purchased sometime in the very near future. (AKA when the samples run out.)

Ah, ok I think I need to sign up for Birchbox! I love beauty products and $10/month is pretty reasonable — especially compared to some other subscription services out there!

my birchbox was really different! I got a full size liquid eyeliner which was my favorite, a CC cream, an amazing luminizing face moisturizer that i would never buy in real life because it’s $80 for like an oz, and also the nail removers and thousandth perfume sample! I got the balm “mary loumanizer” last month which i looove as a highligher or eyeshadow. The sample was pretty big so i honestly don’t think i need the full size… for now.

I got theBalm illuminator a few boxes ago and I’m obsessed with it.
I got a clarifying shampoo that’s decent and a great liquid liner this month. And the nail polish mitt was perfect when I realized I was out of acetone and needed to get some hideous polish off my toes.

I got that same blush in my Dec Birchbox & love it too! I’ll definitely be purchasing it once my sample runs out.

I mean, is it just me or does the birchbox just keep getting better?? I definitely have learned so much about new products/makeup since starting it (seriously such a makeup novice until recently and would say I’m nowhere nearing intermediate or advanced lol)! I absolutely ADORE that Hot Mama stuff, it’s probably one of the best colors I’ve ever used on my cheeks and makes my face look so “alive” – yet natural. Obsessed. Also, the moisturizer. Obsessed. At least it’s not as pricey as the DDF® Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer Moisturizing Serum (love) the Birchbox “swindled” me into “having to buy” last time around hahaha
Another Birchbox obsession, the Model Co full size lip gloss that came a few months ago. Just omg. Okay I’ll stop now! Love these vlogs, keep ‘em coming girlfriend.

I actually just cancelled my birchbox and I’ll tell you why: Glambag. Like birchbox, same price, but I found the quality/quantity of stuff to be way better. I could only justify one per month and it was really a no brainer – Glambag gives better loot.
Oh and I finished season 1 – I feel the need to tell you I love William. OBVIOUSLY. Not Mr. Bates love, but still…
