1. You guys… I don’t even know how to say this, but I found out something this week that freaking BLEW.MY.MIND.
Mandy Patinkin…
AKA Saul from Homeland?
….

WHAT???? I mean, come on. Just when I thought I couldn’t love Saul any more.
Let’s all take a breath.
2. After hours of debating what to do with my unruly mane, I decided to return to the old ombre look.

I actually really love it, and I’m still getting used to how dark the top is. I feel the need to make goth jokes just so everyone feels comfortable. But not only that, I did something that I’ve never done before and didn’t really know about- I dyed my eyebrows…!! I know, cah-razy. But I have to tell you, I freaking love them. For some reason my eyebrows are a few shades lighter than my natural hair color, and until my hairdresser suggested it, I never even thought to try tinting them. Life changer, people.
3. Can we talk about how f*$king evil my skin is being right now? I’m talking like high school, not enough cheap makeup in the WORLD can help me right now, BAD.. It’s mind-boggling. Why a 30 year-old woman has to deal with skin issues just seems ridiculous, but I’m trying out some new products and hoping for the best. So far the Mario Bodescu “Buffering Lotion” has been really helping, and I thoroughly cleaned all my makeup brushes this weekend, but holy hell. If this persists I’m going to have to either fork over some loot and visit a dermatologist or try to make beekeeper masks a new fashion statement.
4. Have you guys been to Target lately? (Of course you have, what am I thinking.) Their Spring stuff is out and it’s making my life. There is so much mint green and hot pink I think I might die. If this is a preview for what is to come after this bitter disgusting cold clears out, it’s actually giving me strength to push through this awful time we call “winter”. Not just that, but I’ve got a drawer full of pink lipsticks that are just begging to be unleashed. Yes, I realize that I’ve got problems.
5. In an effort to move my body more than just from the kitchen to the living room, I purchased a Groupon for a nearby yoga studio, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to start going. I haven’t gone this long without a gym membership in probably 10 years, and it’s starting to ware on my psyche. Even though there is nothing I want to do less than put on a tank top and drive anywhere other than home after work these days, I am in desperate need of some physical activity. Plus I have to justify the last two purchases I made from Lululemon. So it’s a win-win.
6. GIRL CRUSH ALERT.
I have been obsessed with this blog for about a month now. Estee is not only gorgeous and funny, but she has great taste in beauty products and an adorable Canadian accent. Plus I get to live vicariously through her and her experience living abroad, which is something I’ve always wanted to do. I highly recommend checking it out.
Alright, loves, that’s if for me. Enjoy your weekends and stay warm! I’ve got my biff’s baby shower to attend, and I can’t lie, I’m pretty excited to “ooh” and “ahh” over adorable little baby boy clothing. Catch you on the flip side!
xoxo J

Love the hair! My skin has been bad lately too… I’m blaming the winter weather!

I love the hair. My skin issue is that the damn cold dries everything out and my fingers end up splitting. It’s lovely, and makes typing SUPER DUPER fun. But you know what is fun? Baby clothes. I’m not so into the babies, but the little clothes? Love.

You should try the Burt’s Bees cuticle cream! I slather it all over the tips of my fingers in the winter and it works wonders.

#3 – welcome to my world. Have you looked into the Clarisonic brush? I got it over Thanksgiving and use it a few times a week to help with my skin issues, and it seems to be working. Also, I bought the Cetaphil oil control lotion you mentioned a few weeks ago and LOVE IT! Thanks!

Yes I love my clarasonic! Nothing seems to be working right now, though, it’s maddening.

My skin is awful right now, too. I think it’s the combo of dry air and being wrapped in scarves and whatnot… my skin is getting irritated!

I have ridiculously fast growing eyebrows. I have to get them waxed every 1.5-2 weeks. I think if I dyed them, it’d grow out really fast!

Winter weather skin is the worse, mine goes crazy too! Howwww do people like winter, on a side note. I mean it’s a “brisk” 14 here today… just fabulous. um no.. I haven’t been to Target since before Christmas? Who am I? This is probably for the best since I am 100% not allowed to spend money right now.
Love the hair and the brows you sexy betch.
XOXO!

My skin is FINALLY starting to look passable again but for awhile there, it was pretty rough. And if we’re being honest, it’s still far from great. I blame sugar 100% which makes me so sad because we have some amazing chocolates at work right now and I have to decide if I want to look good, or eat sugar. Why can’t I have both?
And I love your hair. The dark looks awesome.
January 25, 2013 at 5:07 pm
I don’t think mine is sugar related, I think it might just be hormones or something. It’s terrible though.

My skin HATES me right now. I’m zitty all over my chin & cheeks. Seriously?? I’m 32, NOT 16. Feeling your pain!
January 25, 2013 at 5:08 pm
Why is this happening!?
January 25, 2013 at 1:51 pm
Your hair looks awesome!! Dark really suits you.
I’ve been chronicling the horror show that is my skin for the past few months — this weather is absolutely brutal. I’ve gotten to the point of smearing Aquaphor all over my face and it’s the only thing that seems to be helping. Here’s hoping the weather stabilizes soon so we can all get it under control!!
January 25, 2013 at 5:09 pm
Maybe I just need to move to Florida for the sake of my skin.
January 25, 2013 at 7:23 pm
Origins in your answer. It’s on the pricey side for a face wash, but I’m pretty sure it’s magical.

Have you tried oil cleansing? It sounds counter intuitive because we are told oil clogs are pores but oil is actually necessary for the health of our skin. Another critical thing is fatty acids so if you don’t take a high quality omega supplement chances are you could use that as well.
