Because I stayed up way too late watching Dawson’s Creek on Netflix last night (YAY for Pacey & Joey kissing!!), I’m just going to dive right in.
1. I don’t know about you, but nothing makes me happier than being smack dab in the middle of fall. But what is kind of killing me is that while the leaves are an array of bright yellow and orange, and fiery reds and deep burgundies, my sweaters and boots are not getting hardly any play time. Exactly how am I supposed to embrace my favorite season when it’s so humid that my hair looks like I just pulled my fingers out of an electric socket because it’s so freaking humid? WHAT IS GOING ON?
2. Speaking of hair (and other beauty-related things) I spent an embarrassing amount of time here last night learning all kinds of fun new things to try. I’ve read Keiko’s blog about 2 years ago, but intermittently. I forget how I ended up there last night but um.. hello, girl crush. I was immediately overcome with severe bang envy, and woke up this morning, vowing to try and do this simple messy bun…
…Eh? Yeah… not my best work but I think a little practice will help. I obviously have a lot of free time.
3. My October Birchbox was the jam. I actually opted for the Goop version despite my inexplicable disdain for GwenPal, but I actually LOVE IT. Yes you win this round Gwyneth. And I guess at life because you’re famous and beautiful… whatever.
The real winners this month were a full-size Essie nailpolish
And this Joanna Vargas Daily Serum which I am embarassed to admit I’m buying as soon as my sample is out. It’s probably the most expensive skincare product I’ll ever own, but I’m telling you, it is awesome. It smells so good I want to lick my own face after I slather it on. And I have really sensitive skin so products I fall in love with are few and far between… but I’ve noticed a major improvement in the texture of my skin (feels smoother and softer) and I even think it looks clearer. SOLD.
The rest was decent but these were the two standouts that made this month’s haul well worth the $10. (If you’re interested in Birchbox, you can sign up here.)
I guess that’s it… I’ve got an exciting weekend ahead: dinner with the biff tonight, a highly-anticipated lady date tomorrow and Sunday I get to stuff my face at the Food Bank’s Taste of Central PA event! Enjoy your weekends, kids, take ‘er easy!

Your hair looks so cute! And I think splurging on a good quality face cream is 110% worth it. I used to go the cheaper route and let’s just I regretted that decision big time.

Your hair looks fab, per usual. I still haven’t attempted the sock bun because I’m so afraid of the failure. And I don’t think she’s THAT beautiful. But yeah, I kind of have box envy. I did get a FAB illuminator in mine though that I love and will have to buy once it’s out.

I think you did an awesome job on the bun- granted I can only see the front, but still. It looks like you did it perfectly. Have a fun weekend!

I so have disdain for Gwennie. I think she is in the top 10 of my most annoying celebrity list….
