Hey there, happy Monday! My Monday would be a little happier if my Eagles could have pulled off a win (insert disgruntled noises) yesterday, but hey, what can you do.
On the bright side, I finally had a weekend that was semi-relaxing and wonderfully boring. After another long week of late nights and one actual morning gym session (NEVER AGAIN), it was pretty much a requirement. Not only did it involve naps and lots of sweatpants, but I even managed to squeeze in some DVR time and was in bed every night by 11:30. Yes, it was all very long overdue.
Speaking of overdue, I also started watching Homeland. And, um… OMG. Seriously. Where have I been?! I am actually kind of disappointed in myself that it took this long. Brandon and I fully intended to do an all-day season 1 marathon, but unfortunately, didn’t make it as far as we wanted. But we fully intend to give it our full attention next weekend.
I also had a lovely dinner with some of my favorite lady friends on Saturday night, resulting in lots of talking (which definitely ended up getting really loud- sorry to the other patrons…) and a crap-load of wine. (See previous parenthesis.) Not that I could have a bad time when there’s pad Thai involved, but I definitely needed a relaxing night like that. I hate that when life gets really busy, it gets so hard to make time for your friends, but I really need to be better about it. I always feel lighter after spending time with people who know me and get my slew of little quirks, but still love me despite them. I always just feel a little bit more centered afterwards.
In other random news, I got scissor-happy last week.
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Hopefully I’ll find some time in the next few weeks to let a professional make that situation a little bit less “I just cut my hair over the sink and oh hey now I have bangs”. Or I’ll just rock them like this, either way.
Alright, well I’m going to stop rambling now. I’m pretty excited for dinner tonight- we’re going to check out a restaurant that I’ve been wanting to visit for a while now. And the reason we’re going to dinner on a random Monday night is to celebrate 2 whole years of wedded bliss. It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years (9 that we’ve actually been together), but there is no one else who I would rather play the “lets see who will empty the dishwasher first” game with or beat at Jeopardy on a regular basis. Seriously though, he’s the best.

Later kids!

Congrats on two years! I loooove those bangs! I’m jealous because I totally do not have a bangs face.

Happy Anniversary to you both!

Happy Anniversary!! Love the bangs, I would never have guessed you did them yourself (this is a good thing; if I tried to cut my hair, I’d end up looking like Kenneth from 30 Rock)!
Ok, and seriously… stop it. Andrew and I started Homeland two weeks ago and now I find myself trying to figure out if showering is enough of a priority when, hello, ONE MORE EPISODE BEFORE BED! Which number episode did you guys get to? I think we just watched #7, TV Twin!

wow you did a really good job cutting your own bangs! i’ve done it on a few occassions and it didn’t look as fierce and needed a professional
ASAP. So now I stick to side swept because it’s less maintenance. But one of my girlfirends recently bought bang extensions to fulfill her bang craving without chopping any hair. I’m kind of obsessed and need to find some for myself because they look so good!

Your bangs look awesome. I am jealous. I’m also jealous of your relaxing weekend. I need one of those ASAP. Also, happy anniversary! If I have to share you with someone, I suppose I would prefer it to be your husband who seems to make you super happy. I need to meet him soon though, so I can officially decide whether or not I approve. Because if I don’t, obviously you’ll have to leave him for me.

Happy anniversary! I’m also quite impressed with the job you did on your bangs. If I attempted a similar feat I would likely have to seek out professional damage control before I could let anyone see me.

A much better scissor job than your “terrible 2 yr old ” version a few years ago. I’d love you if you were bald. xxoo Mom

You’re gonna love Homeland. There’s nothing Claire Danes playing a woman or girl in distress. Enjoy your anniversary dinner!

Love the cut. And I think I will love Homeland (despire it being filmed in Charlotte), I seriously feel like the last person on earth to watch that show. I’m downloading the entire season 1 soon!
