Hey kids, happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but thinking about a 3-day weekend is almost as good as dreaming about a private one-man reenactment of Magic Mike by Mr. Channing Tatum, himself. What can I say, I loves me some long weekend.
So I have a few quick things for this week’s AFTF, here we go:
1. I’m really glad to hear that I’m not the only one who hates showering after they get home from the gym. I don’t know why, but I find a lot of comfort in knowing there are others that don’t mind lounging in their own filth and being ok with that.
2. I have been kind of a one-trick pony with my hair lately, and it’s come in the form of ye olde sock bun.
A few of you asked how I do it, and let me state first that I have always been strangely fortunate with hairstyling. I’ve actually often considered going to beauty school just so I can then quit and sing “Beauty School Drop Out” all the time, but also because I’ve always been the girl that does all her friends’ hair for weddings, parties, proms, etc. It’s a blessing and a curse. But all I can tell you is that it takes a lot of practice, and a whole lot of patience, and don’t try to make it perfect. I actually like them much better when they’re a little messy. I’ll think about a tutorial, but I’ll probably chicken out and think you’ll all think I have a weird voice or something.
3. It’s no secret that I am a lover of fall, but it’s kind of annoying me how much people are already screaming “FEELS LIKE FALL!” No, it doesn’t. It’s going to be 90 degrees today, I still have no less than 5 mosquito bites, open-toed shoes are still making regular appearances and it’s AUGUST. Don’t rush it, people. It’s like people who wear flip flops in February. Just because you’re forcing it, doesn’t mean it’s true. Also I am not mentally prepared for the explosion of pumpkin-everything just quite yet.
4. Speaking of 90 degrees, guess who’s going golfing today!!
Hint: this girl.
I got some clubs from my aunt Mary a few months ago and am really excited about it. I’ve always wanted to learn how to golf, it’s great for networking, and plus I just think it seems kind of fancy. Also I love plaid. And check this out:

Anyways, wish me luck as I’m sure I’ll be horrible. At least my outfit’s super cute. And really, isn’t that what’s important?

I’m over people saying, “It’s the end of summer!” when it’s still 90 degrees outside. Just because other people’s kids go back to school doesn’t mean Mother Nature takes the hint. I’m ready for fall as well.
Anyway, your hair is super cute and good luck golfing. I tried it once at a work thing. I was horrible and ended up driving the cart instead and then directly into a tree. That was the last time that I went golfing.

Ooh, when we have our SW compound we’ll have to live on a golf course. I love to golf and I’ve always wanted to start up a “ladies group” like my grandma had when I was growing up.

I’m jealous of your ability to actually style hair. Here’s what I can do: blowdry it straight, and put it in a ponytail. That’s it. I just try and wear low cut tops to make up for it.

If I see any more pumpkin-this/that posts on twitter just yet I might lose it – for realz haha!! But then again I love me some hot weather, lazy pool days, cute summer dresses and daylight lasting until well after 8pm :/ call me cray… ? However, my hair says otherwise and that it could use a break from this Richmond summertime humidity lol, heyyyy sock bun tutorial?!
