Well hellooooo! (Side note: The episode of Friends where Ross & Rachel get married in Vegas was on last night and the scene where they say “Well, helloooo, Mrs. Ross!” and “Hellooooo, Mr. Rachel!” is one of my all-time favorites. Ok, that’s all.)
Anyways, before I start this week’s AFTF, I just want to A. State how amazing you guys are, and how much I loved all your input on my post from earlier this week. I don’t know what I did before I had all of you to pour these thoughts out to, and I’m pretty sure it just involved a lot more whining to Brandon. Who am I kidding, I still do that constantly…. and 2. I also want to assure you all that everything is all good, a few of you reached out to me like the sweet angel faces you are, which means the world to me. But it was more of just a general post about a bunch of things that have just been weighing on my mind lately. Basically, I’m just a Sensitive McInsecure pants.
Moving along. Let’s do this, shall we?
1. I did some damage at Old Navy earlier this week, but it was pretty awesome. I got like 3 bathing suits for something ridiculous like $25, and a few new workout items. Everyone at my gym dresses really cute, and normally I wouldn’t really care, but for some reason I’m starting to feel like all my old ratty tshirts and cut off yoga pants needs to find their home in the trashcan. After my first (and last for a while) Lululemon purchase, I’ve been on the hunt for equally as cute, but MUCH less expensive workout shtuff. Enter the Old Navy knock off Lululemon workout top:
(This picture is actually taken from Polyvore bc apparently these are no longer online? But they had a bunch of them in my local store and they’re under $20. Ahhhhmazing.)
2. I also bought some extremely short shorts from the ‘Nave, thinking that they’d be the solution to my extremely warm gym. OH NO, MY FRIENDS. Let me tell you something. Working out in short shorts, just results in them slowly creeping up and getting even shorter. I literally felt like I was working out in underwear, and at one point apologized profusely to the girl behind me. She was very kind and said she didn’t even notice, so either she’s the nicest person in the world or a fantastic liar. Either way, I appreciate her not throwing dollar bills at me.
3. Sticking with the gym/healthy theme, I will update you on my progress so far of Operation Get It Together. I have been very successful in cutting out the weeknight boozing, having a few single beers here and there, but no wine. Not a sip. I’ve also been sticking with My Fitness Pal, and actually not hating it. Surprisingly. I’m doing a really good job with my caloric intake during the week, and have been really consistent with the gym. My weight isn’t moving too much, but I’m definitely seeing physical changes already and my clothes are just the tinciest bit looser. I’m definitely motivated to keep it up, so hopefully I’ll stay on track and be back where I need to with some consistency.
But this matters not, because it’s the weekend now, and that means wine time. Also a pizza for dinner sounds like a fantastic idea. Whateva, I do what I want.
Have a great weekend! xo

WHy can’t I watch videos on my computer anymore? Arggh. I love that workout top and I want it, but I can’t buy a single item until I get myself back in the green. Wah.
Also, I have two pairs of shorty shorts for yoga’ing and even though I love not feeling like i’m going to pass out from heat stroke, I do enjoy not walking to and from class in them. I feel like a ho.

Whatever, you probably have a line of strangers following you by the time you get to class just staring at that sweet ass of yours! Also I just remembered us walking behind that chick in DC all staring at her perfect butt haha

Thanks for the Old Navy tip! I refuse to pay Lululemon prices, plus I hate Chip Wilson (even if he resigned). Hooray!
August 4, 2012 at 10:33 am
They are seriously just as nice as the $60 ones at lulu. Lesson learned.

Another reason not to wear shorts to the gym — well spin class? Inner thigh fat chafing. Oh yeah buddy. Sexsi
Pizza is on deck for my dinner too!
August 4, 2012 at 10:34 am
Oh I refuse to wear short shorts to spin, even though I’m always dying from the heat. I just cant.

Clearly I need to hit up Old Navy. I need new workout clothes pretty badly. I have one pair of running shorts (that totally ride up btw – it’s gets inappropriate), and last time I wore them I actually had to fold the top of my underwear overtop of them to hold them up. It was pretty classy.

They have all kinds of cute stuff and a bunch in the clearance rack!
August 3, 2012 at 12:46 pm
I’ve been wondering about the old navy stuff. I pondered it the last time I went, but really hadn’t heard anyone talking about it at that point.
August 4, 2012 at 10:35 am
I hadn’t heard about it either, so I was definitely skeptical, but I’m here to assure you the top I bought it pretty sweet.

Cute top!
Under Armour outlet usually has good deals, too. But beware of their shorts–short, shorts.
August 4, 2012 at 10:37 am
We have an outlet nearby in Hershey but I’m terrified to go in bc I know I will buy ALL THE THINGS.

2 things…..love that Friends episode as well and just started My Fitness Pal as well and liking it!
August 4, 2012 at 10:38 am
I really wasn’t sure if I’d be down with it, but it’s been helpful in showing me where I was taking in a lot of extra calories.

I usually buy my cheap workout clothes at the Targ. The Nave is where I get all my summer shorts and my fav jeggings.
Also yeah, def don’t wear shorts too short to the gym. Especially on legs weightlifting day. Which involves a lot more bending than anticipated.

I do love me some Tarjay for workout gear….
August 6, 2012 at 1:55 pm
I’ve been meaning to stop by Old Navy to look at their workout gear- I really like that top! I’m also in desperate need- the few “outfits” that I have deemed appropriate for public viewing are starting to get worn out. Glad the calorie tracking is going well! It’s a bitch to start, but not so bad once you get into it!
