Morning friends, hope you all had lovely little weekends.  I am pretty much exhausted this morning after a weekend of a little too much eating, drinking and not really sleeping.  Apparently I’m not 21 anymore, who knew.

I know I’ve told you before that I’m a total homebody, and nothing makes me happier than a night consisting of this perfect equation:  Sweatpants + couch + DVR + wine = happy Jess.  Instead, we had 2 parties to attend this weekend, so my couch time was very limited.   The first was a going-away celebration, and the second was a birthday party for another friend of ours (Amanda) who also just got engaged.  It was a festive weekend of fun times with good friends, capped off by climbing into a cab far too late Saturday evening (Sunday morning?).

Sunday morning, as I was patiently waiting for Brandon to get home with some much-needed Sonic tots for breakfast, Mary (the biff) texted me this little nugget:

Oh you know, just me matching the party decor like a boss.  I mean, can you even see that napkin?  It’s like Where’s Waldo.  And yes that is a spoon in my tank, but merely for effect, I assure you.  This is also probably a good time to tell you that I’ve declared the messy bun the official hairstyle of Jess’ Summer of ’12.  Get familiar.

Speaking of fun accessories, I finally treated myself to the most beautiful wrist candy in the whole wide world!

Hello, lover.  Interestingly enough, the sister wives were the ones who pushed me over the edge into buying it, as me and Steph were the only ones sans MK watches that weekend. I think I might have also convinced her to take the plunge…

So today’s plan: Drink copious amounts of coffee and water, and try not to fall asleep under your desk.  Or on it.  And stare at your sparkly new watch often.
