Meeting Chef Robert Irvine & The 10-Year-Old-Me Freaking Out

My job is pretty awesome some days.  Like yesterday.
See, yesterday I got to help out with the filming of a little show on the Food Network called “Restaurant Impossible”, and participate in a taste test. (I know, right?)

I figured we’d sample a few things, give a couple quick interviews, and there would be a 5% chance that a shot of me taking a bite out of something would maybe make the show*.  (Because that’s super attractive…)  I could not have been more wrong.

Not only did I get to meet the very handsome Chef Irvine (who’s arms are humongous by the way)

But I also got to meet someone who I never thought I would ever meet, ever.

Someone so important to my childhood that I sort of freaked out a little.  I’m not one to get star struck, but this was kind of a big deal.  No..a VERY big deal.  And anyone who was born in the early 80′s can probably agree with me here, that this is the definition of a “day-maker”.  Who is this person I speak of?  This idol of my youth and object of my undying affection?

Oh just this handsome gentleman by the name of MARK SUMMERS!  The host of the greatest show ever!  Double Dare, anyone??  Physical Challenge??  (I know, the picture is not the greatest quality, but work with me people, it was on another star-struck person’s blackberry.)

PS- I’m pretty sure I’m going to be on the show for at least 15 seconds.  See, I was there with my pregnant friend and he totally shoved a burger in her mouth, and there’s no way they’re not using that footage.  Side note- This is why it always pays to roll with pregnant people.  Also when other people are pregnant it takes some of the pressure off of you to get to the “baby-makin”.  So yeah, it was pretty much a great day.

I Double Dare you to tell me that is not an amazing afternoon. (ha…get it? Of course you do.)

*UPDATE:  Totally made the show and guess what I’m doing…

  1. I’m so sorry…but I don’t know who that is OR what show he was on. *cringe* I think I’m older than you, so maybe I missed out on that one. That said, congrats on meeting your idol! And you made me giggle with the comments about pregnant women.
